Providence 2025 Hearts of Gold Honorees Are Long-Time Foster Parents at The Next Door
Each year, the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Foundation hosts a Hearts of Gold event to honor individuals dedicated to improving the lives of others and building a healthier community in the Gorge. This year's honorees, Jim and Kathy Stutters, are The Next Door Inc.'s (TNDI) longest serving foster parents who’ve opened their hearts and their home to more than 50 foster children, providing the stability, structure, and love that so many have needed since 2012.
Our Community’s Call to Action
As providers of wellness and hope, teachers of resilience, and builders of capacity, The Next Door has a solution. To meet the growing needs of our community, we need to hire two more Community Health Workers. Your financial support is crucial in helping us make this happen.
Our greatest strength at The Next Door has always been our ability to listen and respond to the needs of our community as a trusted and reliable social service agency. Your support enables us to continue to be responsive to those we serve.
The Next Door Invites Community to Open House Happy Hour
The Next Door invites you to an Open House happy hour on the deck of the former Rainbow house in Hood River! Join us on Thursday, April 24th from 5-6:30pm for a fun evening getting to know others in our community and learning about The Next Door. Happy hour will include appetizers, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks.
The Next Door’s Raíces Annual Plant Sale Returns May 10
The Next Door Inc.’s (TNDI) annual Raíces Plant Sale is back this spring and you won’t want to miss it!
Raíces Cooperative Farm members and staff are hard at work preparing for this year’s sale. Be sure to mark your calendar and join us Saturday, May 10, from 9am to 3pm, in The Next Door's parking lot located at 965 Tucker Road in Hood River to get your organic plant starts. This is a one-day only event and all proceeds go to support our Raíces program.
The Next Door Inc. Hosts Community Baby Shower
Parenthood can be overwhelming and challenging for many, especially for those without access to the basic necessities every child and parent deserve. Financial strain, life stressors, and lack of a support system can all put new families at increased risk. Family Services programs at The Next Door Inc. are designed to help parents navigate the challenges of parenting and build safe, healthy relationships where all families feel valued.
Beginning April 1st through April 30th, The Next Door Inc. is hosting a Community Baby Shower donation drive to support local families. We welcome monetary donations or contributions of new, unwrapped gender-neutral items to help parents nurture their newborns.
