As we wind down from summer in the Gorge, The Next Door invites the community to join us at our annual Harvest of Hope fundraiser! Enjoy an evening of live music by The Tillinghast Mountain Duo, delicious food catered by Casa El Mirador, and a silent auction filled with adventures, art, wellness experiences, getaways, and more. Together we’ll celebrate the impact The Next Door has made on our communities over the past year and honor our special guest speaker, Maija Yasui.
As a third-generation orchardist, Maija’s roots in the Hood River valley run deep and her legacy of service began early. She first joined The Next Door’s Board shortly after its founding in the early 1970s and returned in 2018 to serve again, now as Board Treasurer. Over the years, Maija has served on more than a dozen community boards and worked for over 25 years as a prevention specialist and community organizer with the Hood River County Commission on Children & Families. She believes that TNDI exemplifies her passion for service by empowering children, families, and communities to be the best they can be while practicing equity and inclusion throughout the journey.
Harvest of Hope will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at The Ruins in Hood River from 5:30pm to 8pm. This event is for guests 21 and older. Tickets are $50 per person and include food and admission.
