Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance

Founded in 2017, the Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance, also called the Pride Alliance or CGPA, aims to help LGBTQIA2S+ community members in the Gorge, particularly youth, feel safe and supported.

Program Resources

  • CGPA supplies free gear that is gender affirming and can help with updating documents to the correct gender marker or name.

  • CGPA can assist in everything from finding an LGBTQIA2S+-friendly doctor, to doctor’s visits and advocating for your health and mental health needs.

  • For those who need legal name or gender changes (including but not limited to: ID cards, birth certificates, Social Security cards), CGPA can assist in the application process and in paying legal fees.

  • CGPA has helped run Pride in the Gorge since its founding in 2017. These days, CGPA hosts The Dalles Pride and Community Resource Fair and connects the public to other pride events through a Gorge Community Pride Calendar. CGPA can also support the running of other Pride events. Contact gorgepridealliance@nextdoorinc..org to coordinate.

  • An Adult Social Group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at Wines on 2nd at 6:30pm. CGPA also runs a School Staff Affinity Space for LGBTQIA2S+ school staff across the Gorge. Email gorgepridealliance@nextdoorinc.org for more info.

  • CGPA’s LGBTQIA2S+ Youth Leadership Council is for ages 16 to 20. The Council works to promote equity and inclusion, and also conducts an LGBTQ+ needs assessment in Hood River and Wasco counties.
