Opening doors to new possibilities by strengthening children and families and improving communities.

Ellen Larsen

New Parent Services Advisory Board Member

As the Director of the Hood River County Health Department, and as an R.N. with a graduate certificate in Public Health, I view New Parent Services as an essential community partner.

At the Health Department, much of our focus is on the health of mothers and their children. We offer both childhood and adult immunizations. We manage the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program (541-387-6882), visit families of infants with health risks and special needs, and provide family planning and pregnancy counseling. We give prenatal referrals in the hope that every woman will seek and participate in prenatal care.

New Parent Services Healthy Start first baby visits are a natural and needed complement to our services.

We also provide confidential or anonymous HIV/AIDS Antibody Testing. Please feel free to call us to arrange testing. (541)-386-1115
