Cassie Whitmire
New Parent Services Advisory Board Member
I moved to Hood River a year ago from Northern California to be the new Program Coordinator for the Hood River Early Intervention Program. I have a Masters in Special Education and 30 years experience in Early Childhood and Special Education.
It is a thrill to work in a community with so many committed community partners.
My husband is an attorney with a background in non-profits serving the elderly and disabled, and we have three children, ranging from 26 years to 19 years old. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be closer to my 88-year-old mother and assist in her care.
I serve on the board of New Parent Services because parent involvement and education is a key factor in the growth and development of children. I enjoy getting to know the other board members and their roles in the community.
My husband and I love to hike, swim and explore all the beauty that Oregon offers.
My goal this year is to learn to play the ukulele in my free time!
