I volunteer at the Next Door because it provides hope and support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Also, it gives me a chance to work with people of great integrity and commitment.I have done social work in Chicago, legal work with immigrants in Texas and Seattle, and now serve as a minister for the United Church of Christ in Hood River.
I am continuously inspired by the words of the late Howard Zinn:
"The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory."
