Jamie Guth

Former Board Member

I volunteer at The Next Door because I love my community. This agency cakeprovides necessary programs and services to make our community healthy for all its residents. Being a part of the board allows me to give back for all of the wonderful opportunities the Columbia Gorge has given me.

My first job was as a Subway Sandwich Artist. I make a mean BMT sub! I graduated from Oregon State (Go Beavers!) in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business with a focus in Accounting. Now I am the Annual Giving Coordinator at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Foundation. I am working toward my MBA in General Management at Marylhurst University, happily graduating in December, 2010.

I grew up in Hood River and am thankful that I am able to make my home here today. I have a neurotic, ball-loving black lab who reminds me to go out and play, and two lazy cats who keep my lap warm while doing all my studying for my MBA. They remind me that a mid-afternoon nap is not a bad thing.

How I make myself do things I don’t want to do:
After much procrastination, I finally dig in and do it, and then enjoy the gratifying feeling of successful completion of a much-dreaded task.

A favorite quote:
"We can do no great things, only small things with great love."
~Mother Teresa
